Mr. Rudolph Tessler and The Sanz Medical Center - Laniado Hospital

tessler77The Sanz Medical Center – Laniado Hospital was born out of the ashes of the Holocaust. It is the fulfillment of the vow made by the Klausenberger-Sanz Rebbe, Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Halberstam, z"l when he miraculously survived a gunshot wound on a forced death march. Rabbi Halberstam z"l lost his entire family, including his wife and eleven children. He made a vow, that would he survive, the greatest revenge he could ever avenge would be one day to build a hospital which would treat everyone regardless of race, religion or belief. No man or woman would be turned away.

His response upon emerging from the flames was to avenge this evil by realizing the commandment:  "I have put before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life…" (Deutoronomy 30:19-20) in the most literal way possible by building a hospital in which each person would be treated with love and compassion.

The Tessler School of Nursing is an outgrowth of this vision. To train nurses who would give the most professional and compassionate care. Nurses who make the patient their raison d'etre, their center, their focus.

"The vision of the Rebbe z"l who established The Sanz Medical Center – Laniado Hospital, is a Kiddush HaShem. Our building The Tessler School of Nursing is a privilege, and we are blessed for being able to be part of it."
