Obstetrics & Gynecology Emergency Room

Head Nurse:
Mrs. Ronit Gur

What is the Obstetrics & Gynecology Emergency Room?
The OB/GYN ER offers immediate assessment and intervention for women experiencing acute obstetric and gynecologic problems, including:
•    Pain/bleeding in early pregnancy.
•    Pre-term labor.
•    Prenatal conditions.
•    Pelvic pain.
•    Abnormal vaginal bleeding.
•    Urological conditions, such as bladder or urinary tract infections.

What happens in the OB/GYN Emergency Room?

  • Upon arrival, a physician and midwife will assess your general health, pregnancy and  delivery progress.
  • In the reception room, your medical history will be taken.  Your contractions will be monitored, your blood pressure will be examined , and the fetal heartbeat will be checked
  • If labor has not begun, you will be released. You must obtain a release form from a doctor, so that the health fund will pay for your visit.
  • If you have gone into labor, you will be taken to the delivery room, which is  staffed by doctors from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and licensed midwives.  A pediatrician and an anesthesiologist are also on-call around-the clock.

  • Laniado Hospital's Obstetrics & Gynecology Emergency Room addresses the special needs and health concerns of women with greater ease of access and privacy than traditional emergency room settings.
  • In contrast to conventional emergency rooms, patients are treated by specialists in obstetrical and gynecologic care.
